
As a model Kate Moss defies categorisation. No one can imagine a model universe without her, regardless of her age (there used to be an age limit for models but her career is anything but slowing down). And she continues to diversify. In 2007 her perfume, Kate, launched, as well her clothing range for TopShop, who knows what next?



- She's famously private, refuses interviews and seriously business minded. Not just a model, she's the girl every young girl wants to dress like, she's the celebrity no one can resist reading about, she's someone whose antics fascinate, whether she's posing in a new photo shoot or sadly for her, snapped just crossing the road. She's a style icon for a generation.
- Born on 16 January 1974, Croydon.
- Kate Moss aged 14 was discovered by Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm model agency, at JFK airport in 1988 and was to pioneer the 'waif' look.
- At 18, she became the face of Calvin Klein, most famously fronting his underwear campaign with Mark Wahlberg and appearing nude for his perfume adverts for Obsession.
- She made her first appearance in British Vogue in January 1993. Her first cover followed two months later, with Kate photographed by Corinne Day. Kate told VogueTV in September 2010 that this is her favourite of all her Vogue covers




- In November 1998, after a much publicised relationship with Johnny Depp came to an end, Kate checked into London's Priory Clinic, suffering from exhaustion. When she emerged the following January, she announced that she had spent the last decade modelling "drunk".
- In 2002 she had a daughter, Lila Grace with Dazed & Confused editor Jefferson Hack. They separated in 2004.
- In 2007 she launched her first collection for Topshop under the Kate Moss for Topshop label, featurung pieces inspired by her own style. Her last collection for the Topshop was for autumn/winter 2010-11.
- After appearing in Longchamp's campaigns for eight seasons, she collaborated on a collection of handbags with the brand in 2010.
Fascination with her life seems set only to grow, whether it's her choice of rockstar boyfriends, or her partying lifestyle, or next headline-grabbing business plan.
