The temple is situated at Palluruthy near Kochi. The deity is Shiva.The consecration was done by the great reformer, Sree Narayana Guru. The temple has a Swarna Dwajam (golden flagmast). Near the temple there is a school established by Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP), founded by Sree Narayana Guru. This school is the second largest school in the State. There is a 10-day festival in the month of Kumbam (February/March). The festival is a great event. Cultural and entertainment programmes of various nature staged during these days in addition to other usual temple festival programmes. The festival is attended by thousands and thousands of people. Pooyam Mahotsavam is also celebrated on a big scale. Kavadi Ghoshayatra (procession) with dozens of Kavadis is a great crowd pulling event during this Mahotsavam. |
